The Piedmont Silver Eagles started in 1978 as an organization of Retired Piedmont Airline’s pilots. This group now consists not only of retired pilots, but their widows, and other employees of Piedmont Airlines. In 2002, the Piedmont Silver Eagles Charitable Funds, Inc. was incorporated and is now a 501 (C) (3) tax exempt corporation. The purpose of the Charitable Funds is a way for us to give back to our communities. We have been blessed in our lives to be able to do something we loved and, in addition, to work for a fantastic company. This is our way of saying thanks.

Our hope for the future of the Charitable Funds is to continue to grow and expand!  We hope that our current and future scholarship recipients will join the organization with their children and continue to give back, as it's been our pleasure to do for the past 2 decades!  Many of our Scholarship recipients have since graduated from aviation training and gone on to do wonderful things with their lives- here are several of our grant recipients, and a bit of information about the wonderful things they are doing for aviation below!

WHAT OUR GRANT RECIPIENTS SAY:

I recently graduated from the University of South Carolina in the Spring of 2019. As a scholarship recipient, I am beyond grateful to the Piedmont Silver Eagles for supporting my collegiate education throughout the years. I graduated from the Darla Moore Business School Cum Laude as I earned two Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration as well as a Minor in Spanish Language. My first degree is Finance and my second is Global Supply Chain & Operations Management. During the summer of Sophomore year, I had the opportunity to work in the analytics department for American Airlines in Charlotte as the Hub Planning & Analysis Intern. I always knew that I loved aviation and would work in the industry somewhere. After graduation, I elected to pursue my career as a pilot. I am now flying for Reva Air Ambulance as a First Officer in Learjet 35s and 55s. My journey has been challenging and exciting and I am appreciate of everyone who has helped me along the way. Thank you, Silver Eagles.
